"Beauty, even if subjectively objective, is rapture, ecstasy;
it is as simple as longing for food or cool water.
Substantially there's nothing else to add to it.
It is like the scent of a Book: you can only smell it!
I try to express the degree of my aesthetic emotion towards everything
has been entrusted to me - or sometimes chosen by me - through my daily job.
I do this always considering that my work shall be inexorably intertwined with what,
in its or my opinion, the Book represents or symbolizes.
This is, in summary, the objective function of my job".

When you handle a Book, remember that you shall use all your five senses
to soak up everything that Book really is.
You shall smell the scent of the paper, of the glue, of the binding
- leather binding or cloth binding it does not matter - every Book has its exact fragrance.
You shall feel its body, the weight of each and every leaf and the shape of its cover.
You shall see it, its colours and forms.
You shall hear it, its own sound when you open it the first, the second
and the last time, listen also to the imperceptible noise of the molecular crush
of its crispy pages under your fingers when you glance it through.
You shall taste it, reading its words as if you were eating delicacy's stuffing.

Quando prendi un Libro in mano, ricorda che devi usare
ognuno dei tuoi cinque i sensi per assorbire tutto ciò che un Libro in realtà è.
Devi annusare gli odori della carta, della colla, della rilegatura - che sia in pelle
o in tessuto non fa differenza - ogni Libro ha un suo preciso profumo.
Devi palparlo. Sentire il peso di ogni sua singola pagina nonché la consistenza
della sua copertina. Devi osservarlo, vederlo nei suoi colori e nelle sue forme.
Devi ascoltarlo. Sentire il suo suono quando lo apri per la prima,
per la seconda e per l'ultima volta. Ascolta anche l'impercettibile rumore
dello schianto sotto alle tue dita delle molecole che compongono le sue pagine
croccanti, quando lo sfogli.
Devi assaggiarlo. Leggere le parole che lo compongono come se ti nutrissi
della farcitura di un boccone prelibato.
